The main role of the urban furniture, all over the streets and urban areas, is to speak for humane identity of the area and bring about a favorable townscape. Appropriate design of urban furniture and proportionate utilization of them throughout open areas of the city, which are called ‘Urban Space’, is of crucial importance in urban planning. Areas such as city squares, parks, sidewalks, etc. have a great influence on the quality of urban life. Current paper aims to study and evaluate citizens’ degree of satisfaction with urban furniture in Marivan city, as one of Iran’s tourist-attracting cities.The type of study, is practical and the method which has been used is, descriptive- analytic.Data have been collected using, data sources and previous studies (from libraries etc.), and action research methods (such as observations, interviews, questionnaires and surveys).Statistical analysis of the collected data has been done by SPSS software.In this study a five point likert scale has been used the average of citizens’ degree of satisfaction has been recorded 2.68, which is below the average point. The results of the study show that, the urban furniture are not in good condition.Availability factor has been neglected, regional conditions and common standards have also been disregarded. Street furniture have been established and installed disorderly, regardless of any standards and criteria.The design and establishment of urban furniture are below common proposed standards.
