Iran has the important status according to tourism attractions from aspect of various environmental and geographical landscapes and great historical and cultural heritage. Saqhez, the ancient heritage of Sakaha can be an important place for tourism development because of its various monumental, natural and artificial landscapes in Kurdistan Province. The Study of theses attractions and identifying its strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities and treats to present the needed strategies is the main aim of this article. Therefore, the facilities and services were studied in Saghez city by field study. In this article, data gathering and analysis is done by using analytical, interview and documental methods.
The results show that the Saghez city has the important potentials because of its cross-road situation, historical heritages and sweet climate. Also the results show that this city has an important economical potential to become a border market. So, the Saghez city can be one of the more important tourism poles in the west of Iran.
